Payroll Assistant
Birmingham
£12-16 per hour

Our client, a world leading consultancy, requires an experienced Payroll Assistant to join the firm ASAP

The successful Payroll Assistant will be responsible for:

- Ensuring payroll transactions are completed in accordance within strict deadlines
- Updating and produce management information as and when required
- Maintaining and update Front End payroll system
- Ensuring employees salaries, plus any additional or manual payments are paid in accordance with Employee Service Centre payroll guidelines
- Processing statutory payments and deductions in accordance with HM Revenue and Customs guidelines
- Reviewing reconciliation and audit reports and make corrections where necessary
- Monitoring and recover Payroll overpayments

To be considered for this role, candidates will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes

- Proven experience of payroll administration within a corporate environment
- Ability to organise own time efficiently and multi-task
- Demonstrates flexibility in response to issues and customer demands
- Continually reviews current practices with a view to make process improvements
- Forward thinking and able to use own initiative
- Communicates effectively and appropriately and confident in dealing with customers at all levels
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment to meeting objectives and providing an excellent customer service
- Works effectively with colleagues to complete tasks and shows awareness of the need to work collaboratively
- Responds positively and quickly to requests for help or support
- Continually seeks to improve own working skills and embraces opportunities for further training and development with enthusiasm
- Shares knowledge and experience openly with others
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications, Excel and Word
- Extensive knowledge of using at least one Payroll Software
- Possesses up to date knowledge of HM Revenue and Customs Legislation
