Payroll Administrator - Darlington - 8 month contract

Due to the continuous growth within the Pension Protection Fund operation in Darlington, that now incorporates the Financial Assistance Scheme, Capita Employee Benefits is seeking candidates for the role of Payroll Administrator on an interim 8 month fixed-term contract. This is a pivotal role within the Payroll Team with requirements to play a full and active role within the Pension Protection Fund/ Financial Assistance Scheme Team, with a clear remit to maintain high standards at an individual and team level.

The key duties and responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:

* To complete financial transactions in an accurate and effective manner in accordance with the daily schedule.
* To co-ordinate the recall notices of BACS / cheques payments
* To input tax code changes received from HMRC onto pensioner records
* Process pension payroll deductions and liaise with external organisations when necessary
* Answer queries / respond to correspondence from HMRC.
* To provide a substantive reply to all correspondence
* Real attention to detail and the ability to explain comprehensive information in a clear and concise manner;
* PC Literate and be familiar with Microsoft applications such as E-mail, Word, Excel

Experience of working within a payroll environment is desirable but not essential with the ability to apply this knowledge, practically, within a busy operational area.

We are looking for applicants who have the ability to work under pressure in order to meet challenging deadlines with an adaptable approach to work, allowing them to manage varying demands and workloads.
