PAYMENTS SYSTEMS ENGINEER
The systems engineer will plan, build and support systems which process payment and tax refund transactions for customers across 25+ countries.
The payments system engineer role is broad and offers the opportunity to work across many IT areas including applications, databases, monitoring, networking and security.
Responsibilities
- Manage integration projects with third parties such as VISA/MasterCard, acquiring banks,PSPs
- Ensure systems are built & maintained to meet demanding service levels
- Testing application upgrades including regular testing of disaster recovery service
- Provision simulators for POS Terminal development team to test compliance and product updates
- Enforce security standards including PCI security standards
- Analyzing and improving the performance, availability, security of the payments systems
- Plan and deploy APM monitoring systems such as AppDynamics
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Financial services especially payments
- Payment protocols such as VISA/MasterCard/APACS/ISO8583
- Experience in certifications so ADVT/MTIP
PERSON SPECIFICATION
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Possess a Systems Thinking' ability to understand complex interlinked systems.
- Degree level qualification preferably in computing, engineering or economics.
- Knowledge of payments protocols such as APACS, ISO8583,CB2A.
- Payments industry knowledge such as POS Terminals, ePOS, acquiring, ADVT/MTIP certification.
- Experience in financial services especially highly available Real Time transaction environments.
- PCI Security Standards. Understanding of EMV & encryption technologies.
- SQL and basic database administration, preferably Microsoft SQL Server.
- Understanding of networking basics - VPNs/MPLS/Firewalls
KEY COMPETENCIES
- High level of curiosity and interest in payments industry and technologies.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems
- Flexibility, initiative and self-motivated
- Planning of system upgrades within the ITIL framework.
