We are seeking Patent Law Administrative Assistant for 3 month contract position in Duluth, GA. with a focus on patent prosecution for our Law Department. This position will provide administrative support to several Intellectual Property (IP) law attorneys and paralegals within the Law Department, including responsibility for creating, revising and editing documents and finalizing format and style in compliance with appropriate requirements, particularly for filing in the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO); managing IP files and IP group databases; and offering flexibility in daily scheduling and prioritizing work.

Skills:

Minimum of four years experience as a legal secretary for a patent prosecution attorney. Extensive knowledge of U.S. or PCT patent rules and procedure; knowledge of national laws of other countries; knowledge of Paris Convention and deadlines set therein. Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Extensive experience with a patent docketing software. Ability to accurately type at least 65 wpm. Extensive knowledge of USPTO electronic filing procedures. Preferred Requirements Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required. Experience with the CPi patent management system. Experience assisting IP attorneys with licensing and/or litigation.

Responsibilities:

Transcribe, draft, edit, format and finalize various documents, forms, and correspondence to be filed in the USPTO, and copy and distribute to attorneys, staff and clients as required. Proofread and edit as necessary documents to ensure accuracy and quality control of copy, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax in final format. Review docket for deadlines, understand docket and deadlines and action needed on each file; prepare and distribute docket reports. Filing of U.S. and PCT patent applications, both electronically and paper (including preparation and review of necessary filing documents). Assist in managing inventor awards and obtaining information and signatures from inventors as required. Prepare response to Notice to File Missing Parts. Process payment of Issue Fees. Draft correspondence regarding Office Actions. Review files and preparation of Information Disclosure Statement and accompanying documents. Correspond with foreign associates; oversee payment of foreign associates''' invoices. Effect portfolio transfers and manage multiple portfolios. Coordinate travel arrangements, including air, hotel, and car plans for attorneys. Perform a variety of secretarial functions, including processing new matter forms, expense reports, and travel diaries; preparation of reports, tables and Excel documents as requested. Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, date st determine level of priority and distribute accordingly. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and assignments under pressure of deadlines. Must be a team player and have excellent customer service acumen
