Pastoral Tutor

We are currently recruiting for a Pastoral Tutor to work on a temporary contract in a Further Education college in Wakefield, Yorkshire.

Working with post 16 students, the successful candidate must be skilled, passionate and committed individual to work in this Yorkshire post-16 College, working within the Colleges ALS and SEN departments, providing cross-college support. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Note Taker to join a fast-growing Further Education College with an expanding curriculum. The purpose of this role is to manage a caseload of students providing support for their academic, social and emotional needs. You will be required to carry out weekly group tutorials and one-to-one sessions to support students to meet achievement and progression targets and make informed decisions about their health and well being. There will be close liaison with teachers, parents and outside agencies providing support for young people, particularly relating to accommodation, personal safety, health and Learner Involvement/Volunteering

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting pupils in a Classroom environment as well as offering on-going, one to one mentoring during the course in order to enhance the pupils experience and allow them to access the curriculum.

To be considered for this position, we require candidates who holds relevant educational qualifications and have previous experience of working within student support in a Further Education setting. Candidates will also be able to demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development, good written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to work in a timely and effective manner.
