Hull is getting ready for 2017. The UK's next major cultural event will set the stage for a spectacular, artistically significant cultural programme that will attract visitors from across the UK and beyond. Building on the city's rich cultural heritage it will be rooted in Hull and yet global in outlook. This is also a game-changer for the city. UK City of Culture is a cornerstone of our new 10-year city plan and a platform from which we can leave a legacy for the city from increased visitor numbers and a more vibrant cultural sector to greater opportunities for local people to participate in the arts and access jobs in tourism and culture. Along with other exciting City Plan projects, including our on-going work to make Hull a hub.

As a Board Member of the main Partnership Board you will support the Chair in delivering the strategic objectives of the Hull UK City of Culture charitable trust, contributing through your experience in culture, cultural regeneration or business sector managerial positions or other relevant positions. You will actively advocate and champion the work of UK City of Culture, support fundraising and development of the programme and participate the development and evaluation of its business plan.

As a Board Member of the Programme Board you will support and advise the Programme Director in developing the programme for 2017 and create an artistic programme that reflects the vision and values embedded in the UK City of Culture final bid. You will have a proven track record in programming arts and culture and bring a mixture of local knowledge and/or national and international expertise to the programme.

These are voluntary roles and are unremunerated, although reasonable expenses may be paid.
