Paralegal

SUMMARY

- Responsible for initial review and editing of all retail natural gas contracts submitted for Legal review on a Real Time basis
- Responsible for initial review and response to all RFP requests that require Legal review; negotiate with potential retail natural gas customers as to the terms of the retail contract; maintain and update retail contract templates
- Maintain system for storing and retrieval of original and archival documents
- Conduct due diligence and draft correspondence in response to customer inquiries and complaints
- Coordinate with Credit Department regarding collections and bankruptcy issue
- Attend internal meetings to educate, explain, improve and/or create new processes, as required
- Work with other departments to effect execution of contracts
- Follow-up with customers and internal personnel regarding contract negotiations and execution as needed
- Assist with special projects as assigned.

SKILLS:

QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience and knowledge of the energy industry preferred but not required.
- Excellent legal writing skills and experience with contract negotiations.
- Strong verbal communication skills are required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills - ability to organize and prioritize a fast-paced, heavy workload.
- Computer experience is required with demonstrated ability to work with Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel.
- Bachelor's degree; preferably 2+ year's legal experience with paralegal experience.
