Packaging Mechanic

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a PACKAGING MECHANIC to join our client, a leader in the pharmaceutical industry in Malvern, PA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain packaging equipment (eg High-speed blister equipment, bottling, labeling systems, and carding/walleting equipment).
- Perform routine maintenance for all packaging systems according to schedules while adhering to established GMP guidelines.
- Liaise with vendors and Facilities management team to assure that the calibration of equipment are performed according to schedule.
- Write SOPs relating to packaging equipment and implement validation plans for equipment as required.
- When required, supervise packaging operations and associated personnel including equipment operations for both primary and secondary packaging systems.
- Setup packaging equipment within the GMP rooms to maximize efficiency of operations.
- Assist Operations in liaising with vendors on tooling design development, approval, manufacture and implementation for all primary and secondary equipment.
- May interact with other groups to develop packaging designs (eg Communicate equipment constraints, tooling timelines and engineering design intricacies).
- Participate in departmental safety committee.
- Ensure that departmental safety practices are communicated and upheld.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- B.S. in scientific or Engineering discipline
- Mechanical/Electrical certifications/apprenticeships in the packaging industry with six to eight (6-8) years equivalent experience is preferred.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry with working knowledge of various packaging equipment is required such as the following:
- Horizontal labelers.
- Klockner EAS & CP3Blister Machines.
- Bottle lines -filling, capping, sealing
- Carding Operations.
- Ability to supervise production technicians in a GMP atmosphere is required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are needed.

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

- Experience with MS Word, and Excel is preferred.
