PACKAGING ENGINEER is needed for a long term CONTRACT position with Yoh's client located in INDIANOLA, PA

- Bachelor of Science Degree in Packaging, Plastics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Eight (8) years minimum experience.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- This position is responsible for leading medium to large packaging projects for sterile disposable tubing sets and syringes products. This position provides packaging design and manufacturing support to a cross functional team that spans multiple functions including new product development, material & production planning, manufacturing, quality assurance, shipping & logistics and subsidiary operations.
- This role integrates with external partners for capital equipment acquisitions and packaging material selection.
- Additional responsibilities include:
- Analyze trade-offs between package designs, equipment, automation, test methods and various manufacturing technologies.
- Deliver optimal manufacturing solutions for new package design introductions. Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) to improve product/package designs and processes.
- Identify and lead advanced manufacturing development opportunities in concert with the manufacturing technology SME's and NPD.
- Lead development of manufacturing process documentation including process flow charts, process failure modes and effects analysis (PFMEA), material masters, SAP BOM's & visual work instructions (VWI), drawings, and plant documentation.
- Lead design verification and process validation activities on packaging equipment and test systems.
- Provide training support to production personnel on all aspects of the manufacturing process.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor of Science Degree in Packaging, Plastics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Eight (8) years minimum experience working within a concurrent, new product development model with focus on packaging design, DFMA, manufacturing process development & execution. Experience with outsourced product development & manufacturing models strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of packaging design controls, ISO 11607, sterilization technologies, material properties, and packaging equipment required.
- Technical project planning/management skills, including cost, schedule, risk and activities tracking experience recommended. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is recommended.
- Four (4) years' experience in manufacturing sterile disposable medical products.
- Understanding of Six Sigma methodologies focused on developing Lean-manufacturing processes. Six Sigma certification a plus.
- Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system.
- Technical leadership and mentoring skills with a clear high performance orientation, sound judgment, values driven, detail orientation and adaptability skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Skilled at persuasion and consensus building in a team environment.
- Demonstrated performance development, building and leveraging partnerships, and continuous innovation and improvement
