Packaging Engineer
Location: Seascale, Cumbria
Working hours: Monday - Friday, Full time
Salary: £19.75 PAYE
Duration: 6-12 Months

Objective

A great opportunity has arisen for a bright, proactive individual to work as a Packaging Engineer within the Nuclear Industry

Our client is a waste management company that provides services to customers to treat and dispose of low level radioactive waste; they oversee a national programme to ensure that lower activity waste is managed.

Deliverables (for contract)

Your responsibilities will include;

- Providing technical support to the Package Services Technical team, Customers and Suppliers.
- Preparing and responding to technical queries. Manufacturing concessions, product permits, and operating concessions, and supporting packaging licencing activities such as package design reviews.
- Performing Level 2 and Level 2+ waste loading plan reviews to quality and time, where necessary providing feedback.
- Providing support to the Package Services Technical Manager, including; drawing and spares review, events and maintenance trending to support design reviews.
- Deputising for the Packaging Services Technical Manager as and when required.
- Supporting the preparation, issue, and management of package licensing, customer notices and licence documentation for the packaging fleet.
- Peer review technical and commercial documents.

Essential/Desirable Skills

The successful candidate will possess;

- Engineering qualification and/or suitable technical experience.
- Wide knowledge of procedures and methods relevant to the field with an understanding of underlying principles.
- Technical writing skills.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
