Outsourcing Manager

Harvey Nash is looking for an Outsourcing Manager for a 6 month project in Switzerland.

You are responsible for
- Leading the CRO provider selection process (on a study-by-study basis) with guidance of Local or Global Head of Outsourcing as needed
- Delivering excellent value for Novartis (cost savings, cost avoidance) whenever possible
- Assisting Clinical Teams in definition of work specification and also in some cases actually define the work specifications including the scope of amendments
- Supporting teams to ensure vendors are delivering to a high level of quality
- negotiation of multi-million dollars contracts with guidance of Local Head or Global Head of Outsourcing as needed
- Minimizing regulatory, legal, and financial risks under guidance and supervision of Senior Outsourcing Manager or Local Head
- Managing ongoing CRO/Central Labs/Specialty Provider collaborations (business conflicts, issue resolution, project status, adherence to budget, periodic provider appraisals, etc.) under guidance and supervision of Senior Outsourcing Manager or Local Head
- Delivering quality contracts through close collaboration with functional partner such as legal, Finance, QA, and functional line units under guidance and supervision of Senior Outsourcing Manager or Local Head

Requirements

- At least 3 years' experience in Drug Development in Pharmaceutical Industry or with a CRO/Central Lab/Specialty Provider
- Solid understanding of the clinical development process and in depth experience in the management of clinical trials is a must
- Demonstrated ability of completing projects on time and within budget
- Good influencing and negotiation skills
- Basic understanding of contracts (including basic legal understanding of terms and conditions)
- Familiar with the CRO/Central Labs./Specialty Provider marketplace
- Good financial understanding (understanding of cost drivers for clinical trials) as it relates to contracts and cost reductions
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills (team player)
