Outsourcing Manager

On behalf of our client in the Life Science industry, Harvey Nash is looking for a Outsourcing Manager for a 12 month project in Switzerland.

You are responsible for:
- researching CRO capabilities utilizing in-house and external resources
- identifying a pool of candidate CROs for project consideration
- defining the work specifications and preparing requests for proposal
- managing the competitive bidding process
- selecting the optimal CRO based upon quality, cost and time factors
- negotiating contract terms, pricing and payment schedule, ensuring that the agreements with the CRO's are commercially advantageous
- producing the final contract and securing necessary departmental approvals
- ensuring adherence to project schedule and budget
- producing in-process (quarterly) and close-out CRO performance appraisals, soliciting input from Novartis team members and providing input to upper level management of the CRO

Requirements

- Minimum of 5 years' experience in running international clinical trials
- Familiarity with the CRO market
- Understanding of contracts (including basic legal understanding of terms & conditions)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills/diplomacy
- Willingness to take responsibility/decision maker
- Good team player
- Strong negotiation skills/diplomacy
- Experience with intercultural teams
- Fluent spoken and written English (other languages an advantage)
