Outreach Worker - St. Martin de Porres Family Center

Experience Level: 1-3 Years

Education: High School/G.E.D.

This is a temporary position for not more than six months. The candidate will be working in our afterschool program coordinating activities, recruiting new participants, and providing direction to youth ages 6 - 17 on a daily basis.

BASIC FUNCTION:

With direct supervision, provides supportive services to clients at center, outside center, and at client s home.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.
- Provide outreach to families within the community.
- Make outside visits to all program participants; may require evening and weekend home visits.
- Make school visits to all program participants.
- Act as an advocate for clients.
- Act as a positive role model for clients.
- Coordinate recreational programs as needed.
- Escort clients on trips.
- Co-facilitate group sessions.
- May maintain confidential records including; expenses, monthly billing, client information, attendance sheets for class etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Combination of experience and education normally represented by High School Diploma or equivalent and six months related work experience; some college coursework preferred.
- Must have valid Ohio Drivers license, and reliable transportation for local travel.
- Must have good computer skills and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to prioritize assignments and work with minimal supervision.
- Must have the ability to organize work in a neat, logical and well-documented manner.
- Must have good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.
