Outfitting Designer - Steel Structures

Steel Structures Outfitting Designer required for a 6 month contract assignment based in Grimstad, Norway.

The project will involve:

- Multi discipline design of drill floor and substructure for semi submersible rigs and drill ship

In the role of Outfitting Designer you will:

- Perform 3D modelling and design of various outfitting steel structure like platforms, walkways, stairs, handrails, ladders and minor equipment supports.
- Work with Bentley Microstation V8i and Navisworks viewer.

The ideal candidate for the role of Outfitting Designer will have:

- Experience in design of steel structures and/or outfitting steel for modules/installation within the Oil & Gas industry
- Good knowledge of 3D modelling preferably using Microstation CAD software.
- Experience in drawing production on Microstation (2D)
- Knowledge in practical design details like joint connections, tubular and plated structures, weld details and material grades.
- Knowledge of DnV Offshore standards and Norsok standards
- Fluent English
- Eligible to work in Norway (EU Passport/Work Permit Holder)
