OSS Solution Architect

Main purpose of the role/project:

Define & document IT business solution that meets program/project scope business requirements, aligned with published enterprise architecture.

Act as technical lead during IT project life cycle to assure that implemented changes support the overall integrity, robustness & efficiency of the IT business solutions.

Deliver IT assessments as part of the Demand Management process & budget planning to ensure the most cost effective delivery of new products & services

Define & document IT roadmap supporting company product roadmap and business strategy that ensures cost effectiveness through standardization, reusability and optimization.

Key duties:

Define, design and document IT Business solution delivering Business Solution Architecture (BSA) document, corresponding UML artefacts (ie Activity Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, Use Cases) and Requirements

Traceability Matrix (RTM) in support of documenting the program/project scoped IT business solution.

* Ensure that the solution architecture is compliant and aligned to the published Enterprise Architecture blueprints and product, technology & infrastructure roadmaps. Directs a design change control to ensure that all changes are considered in relation to the end-to-end design baseline. Ensure that the solution is aligned to defined scope but also positioned for future requirements.

* Review and approve design artefacts for the IT business solution (ie Functional Designs, Technical Designs, Interface Specifications, Data Mappings etc.), liaising with cross functional teams to achieve high quality designs.

* Co-operate with the Enterprise Architects on definition of the E2E architecture to assure the integrity, robustnessfrom assessment, design, build, test to production.

* Manage and facilitate the flow of information with the business and affiliates, suppliers etc.

* Support the annual budget submission process by supplying of convincing effort & estimations for realization of the defined business objective

This is a fast paced environment, dealing with lots of different business areas/affiliate companies.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Stronger experience on OSS side. International Telco background ideal in order to understand the complexity of the culture and organisation

2+ years in a role of Solution Architect in a large Enterprises (preferably Telco)

3+ years Software Developer experience of business applications.

3+ years Software Designer experience of compound, scalable business applications.

Knowledge of industry standards, technology standardscapable to deliver effective presentation to challenging audience.

Ability to understand and analyze business needs and map business requirements to IT solutions, bridging the gap between business and IT

Proven capacity to consult and negotiate in a highly sensitive environment with often conflicting interests.

Ability to manage and direct technical teams, acting as mentor and coach.

Strong vendor management skills, particularly negotiation, direction and measurement of vendor deliveries against complex technical requirements.

Knowledge of project management processes and other key enterprise processes

Absolutely essential to have excellent interpersonal skills, strong personality to drive things forward, influence strategy and thought where necessary and present information to all stakeholders.
