ORGANISATION DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

- To create and provide organisational capability (skills, processes, tools, material) to design and run diagnostics activities around Team and Individual behaviours.
- To create and provide organisational capability to commission (specify, performance manage and contract manage) behavioural change interventions.
- To transfer skills and knowledge to colleagues in the Business Change team, Senior Management acting as Business Change Managers, and the wider Change agent community.
- To work with colleagues in the Programme and Project Management, Business Architecture, Business Analysis and Design professions to ensure behavioural change interventions are designed in to work involving overall wider workforce changes (structures, roles, knowledge and skills).
- To ensure effective cross-working with partner organisations involved in the Transformation work.
- To ensure that Organisation Development work is effective at multiple levels and dynamics:
- Overall organisation level
- Leadership team levels
- Management team cohorts and levels
- Within Team levels
- Between Team levels

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Relevant experience, gained in large and complex organisations across the private and public sector, working with whole organisation opportunities and challenges.(E)

- Track record of achievement in the improvement of organisational capability and performance evidenced at organisational and team levels by using OD models, assessment techniques and tools to design, deliver and implement interventions.(E)
- Experience of creative design, delivery, integration and evaluation of organisational development initiatives to support large-scale change (E)
- Ability to design behavioural change interventions and programmes that strengthen trust, alignment and collective ownership of change.(E)
- Well-developed understanding of adult learning methodologies, both for groups and individuals, and the development of related learning resources.(D)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills, including experience of designing interventions for people from diverse backgrounds and abilities with experience of customising communications and engagement approaches to meet the needs of different types of workers, at all levels of the hierarchy.(E).
- Experience in undertaking organisational diagnostics to identify potential for improvement to organisational effectiveness, synergy and alignment, resulting in greater efficiencies and a higher quality of service to internal and external stakeholders (E).
- Identification and knowledge of appropriate data collection tools, data sources, benchmarks, and performance targets to baseline and evidence improvements.(E)
- Experience of leadership and management development, including experience in undertaking assessments and analysis of key leadership requirements and development needs at all levels, including unique requirements for specific functional and operational areas.(E)
- Masters level qualification in Organisational Psychology or HRM (or related-subject)
