Oracle/SQL Developer - SQL/Oracle/UNIX

This contract is based in Dublin, Ireland and is a 3 month rolling contract. This contract is being supplied to us through one of the largest consultancies on the globe.

JOB PURPOSE:

The roles require seasoned, self-sufficient developers who will work with a mix of Finance and Technology SMEs in a project to build a target-state regulatory reporting platform. This will take feeds from multiple upstream sources related to our regional Global Markets, Global Banking and Finance businesses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Understand upstream data, model it using appropriate tools, produce database schemas, and advise through the software development life cycle as the platform is built and tested.
- Database Application Development, Query Optimization, Performance Tuning for Oracle RDBMS and implementation in complete System Development Life Cycle.
- Logical and physical Datamodelling using normalizing Techniques.
- Coordinate with DBAs for administrative tasks like creating/rebuilding indexes, adding partitions, analysing tables, etc.
- Strong Knowledge in Packages and database design in Oracle (stored procedures, triggers, objects,..)

KEY SKILLS:

Deep knowledge of typical data-related "challenges" and solutions is required, caused in an environment where databases have been created over many years. Knowledge of approaches to data reconciliation, especially to the GL, and data adjustment is essential.

Strong Knowledge with Table Partitioning, Load Balancing in Oracle RAC implementation and other Oracle specific concepts.

Should be proficient in Oracle SQL/PL/SQL.

Knowledge of UNIX Shell Scripting.

Strong analytical skills.

Excellent communication skills with ability to interact with associates at all levels.
