Oracle HR/Payroll Functional Specialist

Context/ background of Role:

The individual in this role will be working as part of a professional team supporting, developing and maintaining the HR and/ or Payroll modules of OEBS in line with evolving business requirements, ensuring resilience of the solution and in compliance to organisation standards and SLA targets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Provide 2nd line support to end users, resolving service requests or incidents in line with SLA targets
* Carry out on going maintenance activities on OEBS HR and Payroll modules including patching and upgrades
* Liaise with business users and business analysts to understand business processes and enhancement requirements
* Design and implement solutions to meet business requirements
* Create and maintain OEBS documentation including business requirements, functional specifications, configuration documents and test plans
* Deliver System testing of OEBS HR and Payroll modules for quarterly releases and ensure they are undertaken according to the Testing Approach and Strategy
* Manage the business sign off for system changes/ enhancements and fixes
* Establish key relationships with peers, customers and colleagues across the organisation
* Ensure estimates for delivery are accurate and incorporate the full delivery cycle prior to release into production

Qualifications/Experience Required:

* In depth experience and knowledge of Oracle eBusiness Suite (OEBS) Applications
* Experience of configuring an OeBS HR and Payroll modules, including work structures, fast-formula, pay elements and absence plans
* Technical awareness of the OeBS product and underlying technology
* Good understanding of the business impacts of design decisions
* Experience of working in a Service Delivery environment
* Ability to think in a linear and logical way as well as translating technical information both verbally and written to non-technical users
* Experience in end to end testing of OeBS HR and/ or Payroll module
* A good understanding of HR and Payroll business processes
* A good understanding of Pensions business processes
* A good understanding of release methodologies and processes
* Ability to work with other teams while maintaining focus on overall solution and support
* Ability to work with external suppliers

Learning and Change

* Ability to highlight and communicate areas of change and areas for technical development within OEBS.
