Oracle Developer

DESCRIPTION

- Designs and develops internal and external business systems/applications, systems interfaces, databases, reporting, or Business Intelligence systems, as required to deliver new systems functionality supporting corporate business objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Team with and support Business and Systems Analysts responsible for completing detailed functional specifications.
- Translate business and functional specifications into detailed technical specifications.
- Document technical impact assessments to include details about applications impacts and resource requirements for developing and unit testing new software solutions.
- Develop and unit test software solutions based on detailed technical specifications.
- Document detailed unit test cases and test results.
- Team with Project Managers, Release Planning, Management, and other stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Conduct code reviews with peers and technical specifications reviews with project stakeholders.
- Assist Test teams responsible for test environment configuration management duties.
- Assist Test teams with identifying, prioritizing, and correcting software solutions defects.
- Document detailed implementation steps for deploying software solutions into production.
- Document detailed application support documentation.
- Train Operations and Application Support personnel responsible for supporting new software solutions.
- Assist Data Quality Analysts, Business and Systems Analysts, Business users, and Application Support Analysts with identifying, analysing, prioritizing, and correcting production systems defects.

SKILLS:

- 2-4 years experience designing and developing large-scale and complex Oracle 9i and Oracle 10g database applications.
- 2-4 years Unix development experience.
- 2-4 years experience designing and developing Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence systems
- Oracle expertise in performance tuning concepts and practices involving large-scale complex databases
- Ability to interpret Oracle trace files
- Experience with performance tuning utilities
- Expert knowledge on V$ catalog tables
- Experience in SQL optimization techniques Korn Shell Scripts expertise designing and developing complex and high-performance ETL solutions.
- Education: B.S. Computer Science or Management Information Systems or equivalent experience.
- Preferred Skills: Wireless Industry experience is a plus.
- Must have strong experience with Oracle functions, procedures, triggers, packages, and performance tuning.
- Hands on experience with Oracle PL/SQL, data warehouse design, and assigning user roles.
