Oracle DBA - English Speaking Contract in Zurich

For a global bank based here in Zürich we are searching for a Senior Oracle DBA to join the team.

Please note this contract is for 12 months and you will most likely receive a 12 month extension.

The Job:

The main function of a database administrator is to coordinate changes to computer databases, test and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems. A typical database administrator is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing security measures to safeguard the computer database.

Job Responsibilities:

- Direct programmers and analysts to make changes to existing databases and database management systems.
- Direct others in coding logical and physical database descriptions.
- Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
- Review and approve database development and determine project scope and limitations.
- Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
- Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information.

We are looking for candidates with:

- + 5 YEARS ORACLE DBA EXPERIENCE working for large corporations - doing change control
- Experience with Oracle versions 11 AND 12
- Strong RAC (Real Application Cluster) experience
- Strong ORACLE DATA GUARD know-how
- Fluent English
- availability for 2018. Security clearance will take a month or two.
