You will:
Manage Oracle databases - create, patch, upgrade, maintain objects and performance tuning - at Unix and Linux in a physical and virtual environment with ASM and DataGuard
Manage configuration and provisioning of databases using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager12c
Document, standardize and automate the environment using Best practices
Contribute to the best of breed for I&O's Database platform
Overall competencies:
You are a very skilled Oracle DBA with a broad experience from mainly managing Oracle databases at Unix and Linux platforms.
You have years of experience using Enterprise manager/Grid Control to manage many Oracle databases
You have 5-10 or more years of hands-on IT experience, but increasingly find yourself drawn to the challenges within an enterprise environment
You have personal skill that makes it easy for you to work in teams with the ability to co-operate within the team and with members of other teams - a Team builder.
Programming skills: PL/SQL, Shell Scripting (Kornshell, Powershell etc.), Perl
Maintaining databases:
Configure, provision, creating, patching and upgrading using automated processes.
If not existing you suggest/implement those.
Manage Data Protection using RMAN.
Manage Capacity and large data volumes.
Manage DataGuard environment.
You have a good understanding of Business processes and the needs for an Oracle developer developing and maintaining applications using Oracle utilities
You are eager to maintain the soft parts of a database like partitioning, re-organisation of objects, tablespace management, compression etc.
We expect you to be proactive and committed to create results that add value to the bank and our internal customers.
You drive and take responsibility and build relationships with our internal and external partners based on trust and a high level of expertise and quality.
You are not afraid to state your opinion if you see something that could be done better or in a different way.
You know your stuff, but are not too proud to admit when you made a mistake.
