ORACLE DBA, BANKING

For our international banking client, Swisslinx are looking for an experienced and motivated Oracle DBA for a new 12 month contract in Zurich, with a potential starting date of September/October.

In this challenging new contract role, you will join a team of committed professionals providing 2nd and 3rd level support for Trading and Sales, Corporate, Retail and Private Banking Applications.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

Responsibility for the technical management and coordination of issues and projects primarily involving installation, configuration and on-going administration tasks for the Oracle databases

Upgrade and migration of Oracle databases and in taking care of configuration management and backup recovery

Database troubleshooting, tuning and query optimization
-

Participation in solving system and performance issues
-

Collaboration with other Oracle team members locally and globally
-

A good understanding of the business needs

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following skills and experience:

-

A strong track record as an Oracle DBA (at least 5 years experience)
-

Experience in Oracle 11g (12c would be advantageous)
-

Practical experience with DB tuning/optimization in several terabyte applications
-

Strong experience supporting Oracle RAC and Dataguard setup
-

Operational Know How in working mainly with Oracle Releases 11g and utilities such as RMAN and Grid Control
-

Experience in a banking environment preferred

Fluency in English (German advantageous)
