Oracle DBA

The nature of the DBA consultancy job demands a rational person who has deep technical skills, is able to direct the right balance between the use of standard and non-standard service components and is capable of communicating with all internal and external parties.

- Provide DBA expertise in the early stage projects/complex requests with regards to database design, sizing & implementation, eg conversion/migrations/upgrades.
- Provide internal expertise to DBA Operations teams, DBA Engineers (SE), Service Management related to region specific issues and customers.
- DBA Specialists are typically very experienced Database Administrators, some of which are recognised in the Group as subject matter experts. The technologies supported include the Linux, UNIX and Windows platforms and the Oracle & SQL Server RDBMS.

FUNCTIE-EISEN

- At least 5 years experience in an IT function, of which 3 years experience as a DBA in a first/second line support role.
- At least 3 years experience in a multi disciplined IT environment with strong background in service delivery, operational support, and proactive management.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with fellow team members, fellow customer teams both regionally and globally, customer project resources for project-type activities, and various customer and customer segment representatives.
- Excellent technical knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL Server, Windows OS and/or UNIX/Linux.
- Accreditations like eg Oracle Certified Professional or MCSDBA are a clear plus.
- Very good awareness of other technologies, including the Microsoft office suite of applications (MCSE certification desirable) and data communication (CCNA certification preferred).
- Understanding of server and storage technology, eg RAID, NAS, SAN, snapshot, especially in the area of High Availability
- Ability to use ITIL based global tools and processes (processes and methodology)

Arbeidsvoorwaarden

Assignment for 6 months. Extension is possible. There is NO indication of the rate!
