Oracle DBA

The contract is with a large consultancy to be on assignment to a major European site in The Hague  Netherlands as follows:- The database administrator is expected to set up and configure the initial environments (development, staging, production), to create a (living) knowledge base Oracle best practices and operations and to perform a knowledge transfer/build up of Oracle knowledge to internal staff.

REQUIREMENTS :- A minimum of 5 years experience in database administration for Oracle 10g/11g in an enterprise environment;A minimum of 1 years experience with database monitoring and tuning tools such as EM, Dbtuner, Spotlight; A minimum of 1 years experience with Oracle's Automatic Storage Management (ASM) and Data Guard; Professional knowledge: Essential: Good knowledge of basic server configuration for production environment; Strong knowledge of Database Backup and Recovery; A minimum of 5 years experience in writing, debuging and tuning SQL and PL/SQL, packages, procedures, functions, triggers, etc.;

The service performance shall ideally start in April 2013 and must be finalized before December 21st 2013 in a maximum of 125 working days. During the first three months, the service performance should operate on a full time basis (40 hours a week during 5 working days). After that initial period, the administrator is expected to work for about 10 days per month (on average 2 or 3 days per week). The schedule for service delivery beyond the initial three month period would need to be agreed between the Contractor and client.
