Projektbeschreibung
Currently looking for a Data Warehouse DBA who would like to develop their skill sets in a diverse and technically challenging environment.
The role, which is a DBA/Development hybrid, will focus on administering, maintaining, loading, performance tuning and securing a large Enterprise Data Warehouse (on an Oracle/AIX platform), and its associated application tiers, which currently serve Oracle Forms, Reports and Discoverer tools.
The Data Warehouse DBA will have the following responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, co-ordinate and administer all functions in support of the Database/BI environments of a very large database containing an Enterprise Data Warehouse system
- Database performance monitoring and reporting
- Database optimisation using techniques such as materialized views, parallel processing, partitioning, and indexing
- ETL process monitoring and issue resolution on 24/7 shift work schedule
- Perform database and Application Server patching and configuration changes as required
- Perform backup and recovery of data as required
- Work with Infrastructure and Development teams to provide regular database clones
- Provide support to the BI teams in the efficient use of Oracle Discoverer and other BI tools
- Provide support to the Data Warehouse developers in the efficient use of SQL and PL/SQL
- Continually assessment of current technical processes and advising/proposing/implementing process improvement
- Configure and maintain Grid Control software
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 years as an Oracle DBA, at least 2 of which should be with 11g
- Extensive knowledge of Oracle Database architectures and concepts
- Extensive knowledge and experience with SQL, PL/SQL, UNIX/Linux Scripting
- Good experience of RMAN backup and recovery procedures
- Good experience of Oracle ETL processes and techniques
- Good experience and knowledge of performance tuning of very large Oracle databases
- Experienced in database and Application Server patching
- Good understanding of database security techniques, especially the use of VPD, Auditing, FGA
- Exposure to Oracle Enterprise Manager 12C
- Flexible to work out of regular working hours, if required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong presentation skills
- Knowledge and understanding of the need for formal Change Management
- An understanding of project management
DESIRED:
- Development experience using Oracle APEX
- Experience in administering Oracle ASM
- Knowledge of SQL Developer and TOAD
- Experience in support of Oracle BI Standard Edition (Discoverer), and a knowledge of alternative products
- Understanding of processes required to load data from non-oracle systems, including iSeries and MS SQL Server
- Exposure to Oracle eBusiness (Financials and HRMS) and/or Oracle Retail (RPM, RMS, ReIM)
