Oracle Database Specialist

For our banking client we are currently looking for a

Oracle Database Specialist

Start date: ASAP
Duration: 6 months
Location: Zurich

Your tasks:

- Provide level 3 specialist support for the Oracle environment in Switzerland and globally
- Work in a local and global team of Database Administrators
- Work very closely with various projects to understand their requirements and architecture
- Work closely together with other Distributed Systems teams (eg. Unix) and business streams as required

The ideal candidate shall bring:

- Solid work experience as a senior Oracle specialist, up to and including Oracle version 12c
- Minimum of 5 years overall work with Oracle, 3 of which were in a production support environment
- Absolute confidence in obtaining and providing sound advice for customers and colleagues
- Very strong inter-personal and communication skills and used to be dealing in a demanding client facing role
- Ability to manage, prioritize and solve problems quickly and completely
- Proficiency with Oracle DBA tasks as well as with SQL commands to a high level
- Good knowledge of UNIX commands and utilities for Oracle RAC, Golden gate, Gateways
- Understand Oracle Cloud and Database as a Service constructs and be able to provide technical level 3 consulting on all aspects of Oracle technologies and solutions
- Understand network client infrastructure components and environments as well as how Oracle clients connect to the database via JDBC, ODBC, SQLNET etc.
- Fluent English is a must, German is definitely beneficial
- Flexible, open-minded, team worker, with a friendly and pleasant personality
- Self-driven, be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and be willing to work outside normal business hours (weekends)
