Oracle Database Administrator - the City - 50k

A City based professional services provider is looking for an Oracle DBA to join their existing DBA team operating out of new state of the art offices.

The successful Oracle DBA will be responsible for the provision of 3rd line technical support for all Oracle database environments, working closely with the project teams on the design, development and build of new production, staging, test and development databases. A full range of DBA tasks will be carried out by the successful Oracle DBA, including support of my clients new EXADATA system.

The successful Oracle DBA will have:

* At least 5 years experience in a corporate IT environment.
* Experience of Oracle design, management and support in a complex production environment
* A proven commitment to quality practices and a focus on the customer as the IT environment is service focused

* Good oral and written communication skills. Well organised, diligent and taking pride in the job. A team player.
* Experience in all of the following is essential;

* Excellent knowledge of Oracle 10g and 11g
* Oracle Grid Infrastructure 11g
* Oracle DataGuard
* Good working knowledge of Linux and Windows platforms
* A high level of experience and competence in Database design, testing, tuning and maintenance
* Experience in analysing Database configuration and performance issues
* Excellent knowledge of scripting (PL/SQL)
* Familiar with the ITIL framework
