PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To assist the current Oracle Database Administrator in providing daily support to the client on any of the systems and assisting in the implementation of various tasks associated with the implementation of the project to assist meet its implementation timelines

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Installation, configuration, upgrade and patching of Oracle and SQL Server products

Database and system backup and recovery

Implementation of database and server security

Implementation and maintenance of database and server tuning

Implementation of database and server monitoring

Server, database and application-level troubleshooting

Consultation with technical and development teams

Database design and implementation

Setup and maintenance of system documentation

Capacity planning

PERSON SPECIFICATION/SELECTION CRITERIA:

Excellent communicator within the IT and business teams

Excellent trouble-shooting skills

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

1)      Minimum 7 years Oracle RAC 10GR2/11GR2

2)      Minimum 10 years Oracle database administration

3)      Minimum 10 years UNIX experience

4)      MS SQL Server 2005/2008 5 years experience

5)      Weblogic 11G,12C 2 years experience

6)      Dataguard 2 years experience

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

1)      Oracle Application Server 10G

2)      Oracle Forms and Reports 10G/11G

3)      Sql Server Integration Services 2005/2008R2

4)      Sql Server Reporting Services 2005/2008R2

5)      VMware 5.x administration

6)      Python/WLST

7)      Apache, JBOSS, Tomcat, IIS admin

8)      SAN Infrastructure exposure

9)      JAVA troubleshooting

10)   .NET troubleshooting

11)   Oracle Application Express
