Oracle Database Administrator Job

ORACLE DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Denver, CO.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

This individual will be part of a software development engineering team responsible for analysing, developing, testing, implementing, and documenting, eGIS to eLoc database related enhancements and fixes to a large application. The applications are critical, Tier 1 applications, and are used 24/7. This resource will also perform database application support and maintenance and perform activities such as analysing database health through monitoring tools and supporting production database setup and configurations.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Oracle 11g DBA in clustered RAC environment experience with the following specific experience
- Active Data Guard
- Golden Gate
- Develop data models and perform planning of architecture, functions, modules, recovery, standards and implementation
- Tests designed applications
- Analyzes and determines information needs and elements, data relationships and attributes, data flow and storage requirements, and data output and reporting capabilities
- Partner with Java Developers to create PL/SQL, stored procedures, provide query tuning expertise, and performance tuning for both Oracle and MySQL environments
- Use tools such as AWR, ASH, and OEM to determine root cause of database issues
- Participate in on-call rotation

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BS in Computer Science or equivalent
- Three to five (3 - 5) years experience as PL/SQL Developer
- Three to five (3 - 5) years experience in configuring and supporting an Oracle RAC environment
- Three (3 +) years experience with MySQL tuning, troubleshooting, and setup
- Three (3 +) years of experience Unix, Unix Shell Scripting and Perl
- Three to five (3 - 5) years experience with database monitoring tools such as AWR, ASH, OEM
- Oracle 11g DBA in clustered RAC environment experience
- Experience with Oracle DB setup activities such as Active Data Guard, Data Pump, Oracle Scheduler
