Oracle Database Administrator Job

ORACLE DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR needed for a Contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in St. Louis, Missouri.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- As a Database Administrator, Oracle, you will play a significant role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of production and non-production databases and data dictionaries in compliance with application specifications.
- In addition, you will monitor daily database activities and overall performance, growth and tuning configurations as well as the security of the database.
- You will research, review, and develop database designs for new projects.
- You will also be responsible for assisting with the development and execution of capacity plans and monitor and meet established capacity plan standards.
- As the Database Administrator, you will perform root cause analysis of infrastructure problems, identify solutions, and make recommendations, along with taking appropriate remedial steps towards resolution.
- You will perform the allocation of disk storage spaces.
- You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the database configuration documentation and executing database backup and recovery strategies.
- Also, you will participate in implementation and maintenance of disaster recovery plans.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Experience with managing mid-sized to large-scale production OLTP
- Experience with Oracle 11g; working experience on AIX and/or Linux environment
- Two (2+) years of experience with managing mid-sized to large-scale production OLTP
- Two (2+) years of experience with Oracle 11g; working experience on AIX and/or Linux environment
- Two (2+) years of experience with ASM
- Two (2+) years of experience with RMAN
- Excellent communication skills -both written and oral
- Strong decision-making, documentation and analytical skills

- Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager(OEM)
- SQL tuning and optimization of query plans
- Data Guard
- Experience with Perl, UNIX Shell and PL/SQL; ability to modify or create scripts for automation of repeatable tasks
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
