Oracle Database Administrator Job

SENIOR ORACLE DATABASE ADMINISTRATION needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Los Angeles, CA.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Responsible for providing oversight in all aspects of Oracle database system design, implementation, troubleshooting, and administration.
- Provide architectural recommendations and attaining approvals for major enhancements to existing systems.
- Support security and develop appropriate audit controls and procedures to ensure the integrity of databases.
- Develop, install, maintain and monitor company databases in a high performance/high availability environment while supporting enterprise projects.
- Work with Oracle Database administration, installation and configuration, performance tuning, backup and recovery methods in multiple computing environments (UNIX, Linux) and must be well versed in Data Modeling, PL/SQL, batch processing, reporting, security and data warehousing.
- Willing to perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related Information Technology majors, or equivalent experience with systems administration
- 8+ years of extensive and broad based experience in the design, administration, programming and support of Oracle databases in one or more Client Server environments (eg UNIX, Linux, AIX) with in depth experience in Oracle 10g/Oracle 11g.
- Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (Grid Control), Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC), ASM and Oracle Dataguard tools.
- Working knowledge of data modelling - physical and logical. Experience using data modelling tools such as ERWIN or Embarcadero.
- Experience in supporting databases in both OLTP and Data Warehousing environments.

Bonus Points! Otherwise Known As Preferred Qualifications:

- Working in a Health Care HMO Organization in a similar capacity.
- Knowledge of other databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of Trizetto QNXT.
- Oracle Database Administration Certification
