Oracle DBA/NATO/BELGIUM/SCRIPTING/Linux/UNIX/VMWARE
ROLE: DBA
RATE: €800-900 P/D
LOCATION: MONS
CLEARANCE: NATO SECRET/SC CLEARED
TASKS
Manages ISAF Secret, and NATO Secret Networks
Installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring and maintenance of all physical databases deployed on all security domains.
Synchronization and replication of databases as required.
User data migration as required.
Gathers user requirements to design, develop, maintain, and test databases
Ensures data consistency/availability across databases
Works with a wide variety of databases
Develops and conducts database maintenance practices/planning to include availability, performance, resilience, sizing, capacity, housekeeping, backups/storage strategy
Monitors usage, generates reports, identifies and manages database security issues
Develops and conducts database user and administrator training as required
Prepares and manages processes for reporting deficiencies and requesting changes to database components or systems.
Prepares and maintains database system baseline documentation and procedures.
WORKING PROCEDURES
The consultant must:
Follow the NCIA business model and existing management plans, policies and procedures
Adhere with existing NATO security procedures for physical and logical protection of NATO materials
Document properly all changes made to the system through the NCIA processes and tool suites
Essential changes to the system require prior approval from NCIA/SMD
The working language shall be English
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The individual must have:
A graduate degree in Computer and Information Systems Technology or an equivalent level of qualification or professional accreditation by a related engineering Institute or professional body
Fluent English in both spoken and written.
ESSENTIALS:
Minimum of 4 years' experience administering complex network environments (within the last 4 years)
Must be familiar with both stand-alone and network operations.
Must have experience in Scripting languages
Experience with system administration monitoring tools
Should have at least 4 years' experience administering operational databases in a production environment (within the last 5 years):
Oracle Database administration (11g, 12c)
Extensive knowledge on Linux/Unix operating systems
Extensive knowledge on Windows operating system
completion of vocational training leading to a formal database related technical or professional certification.
DESIRABLES:
- Professional/Experience:
- Oracle RAC technology administration
- MSSQL DBA experience
- Knowledge/Experience in VMware Virtualization (esxi 4.1 minimum)
- Netapp Snap Manager for Oracle
