Oracle Database Administrator

Edelway AG is a Swiss IT recruitment company. Our global multinational end-client based in Basel, Switzerland, is currently looking for a Database Administrator to join them on a long-term opportunity (will be extended in December 2015).

Location: Basel

The Role:
*Develop and implement database performance monitoring process and analyse monitoring data for performance optimization opportunities.
*Create/Implement database maintenance plan to ensure data integrity.
*Manage the on-site backup and recovery process and/or support the off-site backup and recovery teams as needed.
*Troubleshoot PL/SQL code, Shell Scripts to support database applications. Work extensively with other application groups to design code and tune database objects.
*Plan for and execute any required database upgrades and migration (patches etc.)

Your Profile:
*Minimum 5+ years of applicable work experience as an Oracle Database Administrator
*Minimum 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following technologies Oracle Enterprise Server 10.2, 11.1 and 11.2:
oReal application cluster (RAC)
oOracle Enterprise Manager
oPerformance analyser
oDatabase security (Enterprise User Security, Auditing, ACLs)
oDatabase performance tuning
oProblem troubleshooting
*Proactive monitoring via OEM or custom scripts
*Replication including designing for conflict avoidance and conflict resolution
*Overall Backup and recovery processes and technologies including RMAN, flashback, snapshots.
*SQL and PL/SQL language knowledge
*Ability to understand the impact of problems on overall database performance UNIX and Linux operating systems (Shell Scripting capabilities is a plus)
