Oracle Database Administrator

We are looking for an Oracle Database Administrator who is looking for their next contract starting ASAP and going into 2015.

THIS POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAY-TO-DAY OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF DATABASE SERVERS, INCLUDING:

- administration, optimisation and integrity of physical databases, performance tuning and disaster recovery;
- maintain database replication, mirroring and log shipping to meet the customers requirements for data availability and disaster recovery;
- create and maintain physical database schema(s) including back up and restore;
- provide technical advice on database issues, and manage the resolution of incidents affecting database performance;
- database performance and query tuning.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE DEMONSRTATED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING:

- RDBMS Administration (Oracle)
- Oracle 10g, 11g databases
- Oracle Report Writer Code (beneficial)
- Sound programming skills Oracle PL/SQL
- Oracle PL/SQL
- Database Development
- software Development Lifecycle
- XP, 2003, 2008 (OS)
- Maintains an understanding of DNS
- Maintains an understanding of MS Active Directory Functions
- Maintains an understanding of TCP/IP and network troubleshooting
- Proven knowledge of Windows Security
- Maintains an understanding of ITIL Principles

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE DESIRABLEY WOULD HAVE:

- Experience administering and supporting clustered databases.
- Exposure to NetApp Snap Manager
- .NET and/or other development experience
- Experience supporting development teams
