Optical Transmission Engineer - Support/Unix/Microwave/WDM/SDH

OPTICAL TRANSMISSION ENGINEER - SUPPORT/UNIX/MICROWAVE/WDM/SDH/SQL

Currently recruiting for a telecoms client in Paris , who are looking for Optical Transmission Engineers to work on a freelance (contract) basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT, NOT LIMITED TO:

- Deployment, integration and commissioning.
- Engineering design documentation to support the activities above.
- On-site technical assistance and Provide training for customers or subcontractors.
- Technical problem management and Level 2/3 support.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Good knowledge of Optical transmission: Optical Networks, covering hardware, software and network knowledge.
- Good knowledge of WDM, SDH, OTN technology.
- Basic knowledge of operating systems (Linux, UNIX, NT/2000) and major databases (Oracle, Informix, Sybase, SQL Server)
- Basic knowledge of CCS7 protocols, TCP/IP Router and transfer product.
- Good knowledge of maintenance level 2/3
- Good experience in technical troubleshooting
- Fluent in French and English
