Ophthalmic Assistant Job

OPHTHALMIC ASSISTANT needed for CONTRACT-HIRE opportunity with Yoh's client located in Menlo Park, CA.

TOP SKILLS SHOULD YOU POSSESS:

- Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Greet and identify patients, take a preliminary history, and as needed, perform visual fields, dilate pupils, and departmental duties to improve patient flow and department function
- Assist in areas such as visual acuity testing
- Perform more extensive ophthalmic care patient work ups including some advanced technical testing (ie FDT, HVF), contrast sensitivity, IOL Master, pupil check, angle checks, and pachymetry
- Assist the ophthalmologist in performing minor surgical procedures

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- High school diploma
- Five (5) years of recent experience as Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or Technician preferred
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) by the Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO)
- Current CPR certification
