Operator

Electrical power generation client is currently seeking an Operator for Testing Lead of "TURBINE-GEN MODs" and systems on the McGuire Nuclear Training Simulator for the "TURBINE-GEN" project in Huntersville, NC. This is a 6 month CONTRACT position, with the possibility of extension. Local candidates preferred but per diem will be available for qualified candidates. Nights and weekend work required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- The McGuire Major Projects "TURBINE-GEN mod" project is modifying the HP Turbine, increasing the MW output, and installing a Cameron LEFM on the McGuire Simulator
- Work on the MMP "TURBINE-MUR mod" project outside the fence at the McGuire Simulator Building 7403
- The McGuire Simulator is a L3 MAPPS Orchid-based Simulator platform which includes updated graphical modeling, a new Instructor System, and interface to an Ovation DCS system
- Perform Mod implementation testing and Mod Acceptance validation testing on the new McGuire Simulator Orchid platform
- Identify modeling discrepancies and ensure the initially delivered vendor modeling is thoroughly exercised and reviewed such that the final simulator modeling has a high fidelity to the modified McGuire Unit 1 reference Unit
- Test the Mod primarily by running McGuire plant procedures and Transients on the McGuire Unit 1 Simulator. This will involve maneuvering the simulated plant from the McGuire simulator control board and utilize the McGuire sim DCS, OAC, and other simulated systems as required

REQUIREMENTS

- Senior Reactor Operator experience (McGuire SRO within the last 7 years desired)
- McGuire Operations experience (within the last 7 years desired)
- Westinghouse Ovation DCS experience (within the last 4 years desired)
