Operations Support Engineer - SQL/Unix (4527)

For a long-term project at our clients site, an international bank based in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced

OPERATIONS SUPPORT ENGINEER - SQL/UNIX (4527)

The ideal candidate will play an integral role within the existing Treasury Operations Support Team.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

- FAMILIAR WITH ORACLE DATABASE AND GENERAL DATABASE CONCEPTS AND EXPERIENCE IN DATA ANALYSIS
- STRONG SQL SKILLS WITH SOME PL/SQL KNOWLEDGE
- EXCELLENT KNOWLEDGE OF UNIX COMMANDS
- ETL skills which includes ability to read SQL Loader files and understand the load process
- Experience in Bash Scripting (Basic/Intermediate), Control-M (Advanced), Python (Basic) and Informatica Powercenter (Basic)
- Familiar with UNIX Shell Scripting and ability to read and apply modifications
- Familiar with programming concepts and knowledge of Java 2 Language would be a good asset
- Must be able to work the occasional after hours support

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Managing resolution of technical issues for multiple applications on many different layers
- Coordinate resolution with various team members for majority of the issues, analyze root cause and assist in efficient resolution of all production processes
- Troubleshooting skills related to: software functionality, application environment setup, database management, data analysis, and third party products (Oracle, Informatica/PowerCenter, Java, Unix)
- Providing support in communicating and reporting all the encountered issues, responsive follow through, and advocacy for client issues within internal departments
- Prioritizing numerous issues of varying severity, effectively manage the resolution of all issues within accepted service levels and maintaining the problem tickets related to these issues
