Operations Support Analyst

This role is for a operations support analyst for an elite trading firm in downtown Chicago. They are looking to bring someone onto their operations team who will be the technical point of contact to fix any trade errors and fix bugs to ensure the trading systems run smoothly. Role Responsibilities: The following are key responsibilities fulfilled by a Operations Support Analyst in this role * Point of contact between Development, Risk, Quant, and BA teams * Monitoring and alerting of critical trading system environments * Proactive identification and resolution of problem hotspots * Troubleshooting of complex systems issues * Ability to write complex queries for ad hoc data requests by internal stakeholders (SQL) * Release implementation and post-release testing * Build and maintain strong partnerships with business stakeholders, application development personnel, and infrastructure contacts * Accurate tracking of support effort to enable effective management reporting * Maintain documentation on issue corrective actions in-line with best practice to ensure knowledge accessibility and continuous learning amongst team * Preference for 2nd or 3rd shift (3PM to midnight or midnight to 8AM) to support Asian and European markets Technical Skills: * High level Unix/Linux background * Shell scripting * Mid to high level SQL skills (writing multiple queries, joining tables, etc.) Other Preferred Skills * Self motivated with ability to multitask and work effectively under extreme pressure and stress * Trade operations, application support, or production support background * Financial background a plus (trading, exchanges, investment bank) If you feel that you are a good fit for this position, please submit your resume highlighting your technical experience as it relates to this description.
