Operations Specialist Job

OPERATIONS SPECIALIST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Niskayuna, NY.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

The Operations Specialist will support and track the operational execution of the research team. As a key support to two Technology Leaders, the Operations Manager ensures that the teams have the facilities, tools and skills they need to deliver on their commitments, are in compliance with government programs, collect and track all organization operational data, and maintain the organizations' digital sharing infrastructure.

As the Operations Specialist you will have day-to-day responsibility for tracking, supporting, and communicating multiple aspects of our program and organizational execution strategies, including:

- Physical Resources: hardware, software, IT infrastructure, lab supplies and tools, test cell planning and schedule coordination
- Human Resources: monitor recruiting activities, track headcount, analyze functional skill mix, and coordinate/track training initiatives
- Organizational Vitality: track awards, publications, patents, etc consolidate into information dashboards, and supplement with quarterly reports
- Safety and Quality: safety team organization, housekeeping audits, instrument calibration tracking, government property tracking, etc.
- Communication: manage and maintain digital sharing infrastructure including shared drives, blogs, and websites, and internal communications rhythm by the leadership team
- Business Operations Alignment: working closely to ensure oversight and compliance rhythms
- Cross Functional Support: working with Finance, HR, IT and other functions to achieve needed support

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's Degree in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
- Proficient in PC-based tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Six Sigma trained
- Two to five (2-5) years minimum experience
- Demonstrated experience developing new processes with Six Sigma rigor
- Experience in an operations role in an industrial company
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Effective teaming and problem solving abilities
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization
- Experience building websites
- Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion
- Ability to generate new and unique ideas and has the courage to take action
- Demonstrated ability to solve or lead complex issues to a successful resolution
- Possesses project management skills and presentations skills
