Operations Manager - 6 months - Coventry - Negotiable Daily Rate

A leading Manufacturing and Confectionery client of Hyphen is looking for an Operations Manager to join their site in Coventry. The client is looking for a Senior individual with experience of reporting into Director level.

Job Purpose:

To work alongside the Site Manufacturing Director to provide leadership and drive performance excellence at Coventry.

Specifically responsible for:
*All Doritos production, representing over 60% of the total site volume
*Leadership of the site's planning & scheduling function
*Deputising for Site Manufacturing Director
*Ownership of the Site's Lean agenda in line with the European Snacks Centre of Excellence model
*Delivery of balanced scorecard (safety, customer service, product quality, people management, cost, sustainability) across 3 production and packaging lines to meet AOP targets and drive continuous improvement year on year.
*Development of direct reports and identification and management of talent to facilitate growth.

Principal Accountabilities

1.Set the direction, the culture and the standards for people and performance at the Coventry site and ensure we meet those commitments by holding individuals accountable for the delivery of their responsibilities
2.Deliver Coventry AOP (including Productivity commitments) through daily/weekly/period management of all aspects of Operations performance.
3.Deliver customer service: daily compliance with Supply Planning requirements (through management of shift-based teams), and flawless execution of all product-related change (NPD, trials, promotions, etc) for Coventry.
4.Deliver product quality standards (.ie weaklink results, complaints) and food safety/hygiene standards through operation/maintenance of production equipment, and management of shift-based teams to defined daily AIB and BRC audit standards.
5.Ensuing that Coventry's culture continues to evolve and that the clients Values and Guiding Principles are promoted and upheld. Examples of this include diligence to the SAT & FSAT process, supporting the site vision through leading various teams and supporting and driving people engagement forums.
6.Manage all aspects of performance of direct reports. This includes: PDR, CDAP, Training needs analysis, performance management, motivation and resource planning.
7.Lead or implement the delivery of client core operating processes such as IPS, Starfleet, Lean Six Sigma, CI etc.
8.Personal (and legal) ownership for the health, safety and welfare of >140 employees, and improvement of safety results to define and comply with internal procedures/policies.
9.Ensure that all commercial change is executed in line with agreed plans
10.Assist in the development and implementation of capital investments on lines to support the efficient control of the site's capital plan"
11.A key member of the site leadership team - influencing the broader site agenda and ensuring consistency of approach/best practice development across the Ops agenda
12.Play a role outside of the Coventry Plant as part of the broader Operations Manager network and supporting the UK Operations strategy.
