Operations Geologist

My Client is looking for an experienced (5+ years) Operations Geologist with a strong technical background to join our active drilling program in Central and East Texas. Reports to : Senior Exploitation Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities : * Responsible for daily geologic operations for ongoing drilling program * Including but not limited to, preparing geologic prognoses * Design and oversee subsurface evaluation programs * Incorporate all geologic data, and geosteering. Following are a list of expectations: * Detailed understanding of: * Geosteering * Geologic Prognosis preparation * Development layout and planning * Regulatory * Coring fundamentals * Landing zone criteria * Mud logging * Safety * Working understanding of: * Log analysis * Core analysis * Exploration concepts * Resource plays * Well completion * Completion monitoring * Procurement * Bring together all aspects listed above to produce maps, display plots and diagrams or other that can be used to convey to others via text or orally the technically concepts to support efforts Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Computer proficiency * Steering software * Geology software ( GeoGraphix of Petra a plus but not necessary) * Creative, team player Minimum Qualifications: * B.S. in Geology * M.S. in Geology preferred * 5 + years' experience
