Operations Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

ConSol Partner's client, an innovative solutions organisation focused on web technology and IoT (Internet of Things), is growing at an extreme pace and is widening its services for clients/customers.

In order to do so, they are looking for an autonomous and entrepreneurial OPERATIONS ENGINEER that can take on a role with several responsibilities:

- Provide 1st, 2nd and elementary 3rd level support to our customers and partners, as well as expand and maintain operational toolchain in order to safeguard the service level agreements of the cloud based services and customer platforms.
- You'll have both exposure inside and outside of the company being responsible for triaging issues and/or directly addressing incoming questions.
- Improve the service monitoring and self-management tools.

Shift duties.

- Perform customer maintenance activities which include but are not limited to onsite interventions.

Maintain and operate the Control Plane which consists of following functionality:

- Monitoring
- Logging
- Alerting
- Security
- Auto-Scaling
- Self-Healing
- Event Driven automation
- Deployment/Service Lifecycle Management
- Billing
- Authentication and Authorization

REQUIREMENTS

- Monitoring and Alerting tools: ZABBIX
- Logging: ELASTICSEARCH, LOGSTASH, KIBANA
- Helpdesk software: ATLASSIAN JIRA, CONFLUENCE
- Operational orchestration tools: primarily ANSIBLE but PUPPET, SALTSTACK, CHEF are a plus
- Container management tools: DOCKER, KUBERNETES, DOCKER SWARM
- Cloud Operations/services: AWS, AZURE, OPENSTACK, BLUEMIX, GCE
- Continuous Integration/Deployment toolsets: ANSIBLE, DOCKER, VAGRANT
- LINUX Sysadmin skill level
- NETWORKING Knowledge
- Affinity with BIG DATA technologies is a major plus
