Operations Engineer

*CORPORATE PACKAGING ENGINEERING EXPERT NEEDED*

WORK FOR A LEADING PACIFIC NORTHWEST COMPANY!

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Generate innovative protective packaging design solutions for fulfillment and distribution operations.
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement packaging designs across multiple North America Fulfillment Center locations.
- Seek out and work collaboratively with packaging material suppliers on packaging designs and material alternatives.
- Seek out and work collaboratively with packaging equipment suppliers on automation alternatives.
- Support Procurement team with packaging vendor selection and qualifications.
- Evaluate packaging solutions for total cost impact including material, transportation, capital and labor costs.
- Serve as the Corporate Packaging Engineering Expert driving best-in-class packaging designs, standards and specifications.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- BS or MS degree in Packaging Engineering
- 5-10 years packaging engineering design and project management experience
- Design experience in corrugate, and polymer based materials
- Experience in fulfillment and distribution packaging a plus
- Experience with automated packaging equipment a plus
- Solid knowledge of Packaged Transit Testing methods
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs
- Strong writing and speaking skills
- Analytical and detail oriented

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience in fulfillment and distribution packaging a plus
- Experience with automated packaging equipment a plus
