The Treasury & Banking team is part of the Middle Office supporting the Discretionary Client business. A position exists within the Treasury team for a team member with particular specialist knowledge of this function.
Operations Analyst Responsibilities:
* Ensuring Client payments are formatted correctly and investigating SSI details for the beneficiary banks prior to Treasury funding cut offs.
* Responsibility for ensuring that incoming funds are applied to Client's account timely and within deadlines.
* Daily funding of all MLPM Broker accounts including Fund Transfer Agents. Processing these in both internal and external systems.
* Cheque issuance and receipt for Clients.
* FX process, both outright and 'DVP' (As well as FX execution for Off shore DVP FX).
* FX confirmation matching in external systems.
* Set up and maintenance of Client Standing orders.
* Processing exception reports for standing orders.
* Processing ad-hoc requests for ledger postings from finance.
* Actively monitoring system communication queues for errors, and investigating the root cause.
* Manually generating swifts for ad-hoc/corrective payments.
* Setting up investigations with external custodians.
* Confirming Money Market deposits.
* P&L form processing, including end of month P&L FX's.
* Working with the Reconciliations and control team to investigate reconciliation breaks.
* Point of contact for all cash queries from Front Office and Middle Office teams.
* Daily reporting of FX balances and Offshore BDW Memo account.
* Working as part of a team to meet daily deadlines.
* Escalation of potential risk and exposure on a timely basis.
* Identification & implementing improvements to the current processes.
Knowledge/Experience:
* Previous Treasury and Banking experience in a Middle Office environment.
* Experience of strict adherence to control procedures within an operational environment.
* Strong product knowledge and understanding of wealth/asset management and custody business.
* Knowledge of Swift, and specifically cash related messages. (MT103, MT192, MT199, MT202, MT292. MT299. MT910, MT940, MT950 MT999).
Skills:
* Computer literate and numerate.
* Good understanding of MS Excel.
* Good spoken and written communication skills.
* Ability to work under own initiative.
* Ability to work well under pressure.
* Strong leadership skills.
* Ability to define, articulate and manage process improvements and business requirements.
Qualifications:
* Threshold competent (together with passes in IAQ exams would be advantageous)
