Fixed Term Contract FTC 12 months

We are currently looking to hire a Project Manager - Operational Risk Transformation Programme.

Santander UK is about to start a project to provide a platform of co-ordinated activities to take Santander UK from its current operational risk framework and management status to one which is aligned with an organisation which subscribes to the Basel Advanced Measurement Approach for operational risk. There are both organisational and technological elements to the Programme, and additionally it is relatively high profile both internally and with regulators.

The main role purpose of the Project Manager, Operational Risk Transformation Project, will be to support the Head of Strategic Operational Risk in developing and delivering the Operational Risk Transformation Programme which will allowSantander UK's level of Operational Risk Management to reach an equivalent to that defined in the AMA standards. This will include full end to end project management of the programme lifecycle.

As a Project Manager - Operational Risk Transformation Programme your main responsibilities will include:

* Organisational Project Management - work with Operational Risk Control to ensure delivery of new OR target operating model and smooth implementation of supporting tools and methodologies.
* Together with the Senior Manager - ORTP Organisational Project Management - Line 1 and the Senior Manager - ORTP Technological Project Management, propose to ORTP Steering Committee a programme structure and governance that allows the company's management of the Programme to be executed effectively.
* To oversee the operation of the Programme structure and governance with respect to its implementation within the business units and report material deficiencies to ORTP Steering Committee.
* To organise the business unit specific aspects of the Programme into individual workstreams/projects, to ensure that all projects are delivered to budget, time, and quality, and any risks/ dependencies are identified and managed to conclusion.
* To produce regular summary position papers for inclusion in standard corporate reporting i.e. RMC/ERC/BRC/Board.
* Create and maintain tracking processes to monitor and control programme budget and spend (both capital and revenue), track and resolve variances, and report to ORTP Steering Committee by exception. Where relevant, challenge / validate budgets from business unit workstreams/projects feeding into the wider Programme.

As a Project Manager - Operational Risk Transformation Programme your key skills and experience will include:

* Operational Risk Management background and experience.

* Project management / Programme management skills
* Risk identification methods/tools - questionnaire, workshops, interviews
* Risk assessment - Inherent/ Residual basis; Impact Types; Risk likelihood
* Control concepts and documentation - objectives, types, accountability, resource, process, evidence
* High level cost benefit analysis and project Management principles
* A strong understanding of Internal Governance and Risk Culture concepts

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 plus benefits
