Operational Excellence Consultant

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE CONSULTANT - EAST GRINSTEAD - B2C - LEAN - BLACKBELT QUALIFIED - PROCESS MAP - SDO

Our major energy client is looking for an Operational Excellence Consultant for a contract role in East Grinstead.

Key responsibilities

- Mobilisation of SDO Projects following approval by the SDO Steering Group
- Use the B2C Operational Excellence 4Ds approach to manage and deliver complex SDO Projects
- Prepare and maintain realistic project and quality plans, estimate cost, timescales and resource requirements for the successful delivery of the project
- Monitor performance against plan, and take action if there is any deviation
- Provides reports to the SDO Portfolio Manager and where required, the SDO Steering Group
- Allocate tasks to team members and appraise individual performance against objectives
- Actively represent the SDO Project team, building & maintaining effective relationships
- Liaise with the SDO Portfolio Manager and Steering Group to assure project direction & integrity

Essential skills and experience

- Excellent leadership skills within an Agile environment with the ability to motivate and lead others and experience of directing medium to large projects/workstreams
- Track record of delivering and facilitating Lean workshops and sessions across all levels of an organisation ideally within the Service and/or Utilities sector
- A comprehensive knowledge of, and proven track record in the use of, Lean skills/tools (Workplace Organisation - 5S, Process Mapping/Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Work Organisation (1-Piece Flow, TAKT, 3R's), Standardisation and Mentoring/Coaching)
- Advanced LERC accredited or Lean Sigma Master Black Belt qualified is preferable
- Ability to demonstrate actual personal impact on top line (revenue) and bottom line (cost/productivity)
- Experience of working with business units (Customer Services, Energy Field Services, Marketing) to understand business challenges and leverage existing relationships
- Professional designation in management and/or relevant technology
- Able to establish strong working relationships with senior stakeholders
