Operation Support- Trading Firm- Loop

I am seeking a Senior Operations Support Analyst to join a growing team for an elite financial firm in the Chicago loop. This firm is looking to bring someone onto their operations team and help improve their trade processes. An ideal candidate would have a high level trade support background with a light development and testing background as you will need to cover a variety of technical areas.

Responsibilities:

3rd and 4th level support- resolving problems including use of third-party support software, while informing management, business units and customers

Communicate technical problems across Operations, Product, QA, and Development teams

Interfaces with QA to ensure operational testing procedures (failover and recovery) are incorporated in the QA test suites.

Writes basic test plans and scripts, as appropriate.

Documentation of incident and problem management database records as appropriate

Troubleshooting applications and goes into greater detail in problem solving

Performs checkout procedures to ensure the integrity of the production environments.

Creates basic recovery plans and procedures as well as configuration and validation scripts (Perl)

Trouble shoots and corrects standard recovery procedures that do not result in a timely restoration of service

Requirements:

5-10 years Support/Operations experience in a trading environment

Unix/Linux platform background

Perl scripting (python or programming background is also helpful)

Financial and trading knowledge a must

Must have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

Strong knowledge of software and hardware networking and desktop applications (OS 400)
