Operability Manager

Purpose of role:
To ensure:
o Coherence between the RNs perspective on how the platform will operate and how the team anticipate it will be manned, operated, maintained and supported.
o That the necessary changes from each of the DLOD areas are identified, as 3rd Order Assumptions, are agreed internally and externally and implemented.
o That the necessary policies, concepts and doctrine are challenged and where appropriate and changes/concessions are agreed and recorded.
o That any In-Service-Support solution constraints for the platform are reflected and addressed within the overall operability of the platform.
o That the consequence of any Support Decision Point outputs are reflected and considered within the overall operability assessment for the platform for Main Gate submissions.
o That the work of the UEL and the Automation areas are coherent and algned withOperability of the Platform.
o Provide evidence to suppor t the assessment and compliance of the support and platform requirements.
o That the agreed operation of the platform is supported by the appropriate level of monitoring and control onboard and ashore.
o That there is an agreed and coherent set of signals is defined, requested and provided to deliver the agred monitoring and control.

Top 6 Major Tasks and Activities:
Supporting Operability activities
1. Manage and co-ordinate Manning and Automation activities with the wider DfS, DtS and Design teams.
2. Produce the Concept of Operations document, agreed and aligned with the Customer Stakeholders,
the design and the manning perspectives.
3. Develop the Control and Monitoring Strategy, based on the CONOPS which is coherent with the design and manpower constraints onboard.
4. Liaise with Support and Design Teams to ensure the Operability documentation being released reflects:
o The Supportability requirements
o The Design maturity and aspirations
o The Stakeholder community agreed perspective on the operation, copntrol and monitoring of the platform.
5. Liaise with the HFE, Training and DfS teams to ensure a coherent perspective and understanding of the manning and operability perspectives which affect those domains.
6. Communicate the agreed operability position across the platforms design teams.
7. Provide evidence of SRD compliance to the Requirements Team
