Operability Engineer

POSITION: Principal Engineer (Operability)
JOB TYPE: Contract (11 Months Initially)
SKILLS: Safety cases, manufacturing, testing processes
LOCATION: Cumbria easily commutable from Lancaster, Barrow in Furness, Morecombe and with excellent access from The Lake District
RATE: £45.47 per hour

OUTSOURCE UK LTD ARE ACTIVELY SEEKING TO RECRUIT A PRINCIPAL ENGINEER FOR A CONTRACT ROLE ON BEHALF OF A CLIENT.

THE CLIENT:
A leading Engineering and Defence organisation

THE JOB:
The successful Principal Engineer- Operability candidate will be responsible for the following:
Provide submarine operating advice to Systems Designers and Engineers
Undertake Systems and General Arrangement Operability Assessments against Operability Documentation
Undertake Operability Design Reviews
Provide Submarine subject matter expertise
Support the Ships Safety Team in support of the Shops Safety Case
Identify and close-off Operability issues

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE
Degree or equivalent in the appropriate discipline or equivalent
Preferably Professional Institution membership
The correct recognition of the context of their work within the overall product
Knowledge or at least recognition of relevant engineering standards (including safety and environmental regulations)
Knowledge of the capabilities and the most appropriate uses of specialised analysis tools
